Frequently asked questions
Please check the list of our most frequently asked questions below, which should provide most of the answers you are looking for. If your question isn’t addressed, or if you need more information about our venue or the neighborhood, or if you just want to chat, feel free to reach out via email or phone.
Where is Georgia Theatre located?
The Georgia Theatre is located at 215 N Lumpkin St. between Washington St. and Clayton St. in the heart of downtown Athens, GA.
Where should I park?
We recommend parking at the West Washington Street parking deck immediately behind Georgia Theatre. Drive in front of the Theatre and take a left at the light on Washington St. The entrance will be immediately on your left.
Where can I purchase tickets?
Tickets are available for purchase on our website. You can also purchase tickets at our box office which opens at Noon, Monday through Saturday.
Are ticket sales refundable?
No refunds - all sales are final.
How old do I need to be to get in?
All shows at the Georgia Theatre are 18 and up. All football games are 21 and up.
When can I pick up my Will Call tickets?
Will call tickets will be available to be picked up one hour before posted door time at the venue. You must have an ID to redeem will call tickets.
How do I give my Will Call tickets to another person?
In most cases, if you purchased tickets online and you are unable to attend you may give a photo copy of your drivers license to whomever you would like to redeem those tickets – texting a photo is ok. Please make sure to review info provided for each show as there are cases where tickets are non-transferrable.
Can I sell my tickets for more than I paid for them?
Absolutely not! We frown on scalpers and do everything in our power to stop them. If you are caught selling or buying tickets for more than face value you will not be allowed to attend and your karma will be in dire jeopardy.
The show is sold out - what can I do?
Make a new friend that has an extra ticket. We do everything in our power to stop scalping. Please note we will not support tickets purchased through second party vendors (StubHub, Razorgator, TicketsNow, etc)
When can I enter the venue, and when will music start?
Typically, doors are at 8pm with music starting at 9pm, but please check the specific event page to be sure. We would also like to note that most shows will be over around midnight. Please come join us on the roof after a show!
Is there food offered at the venue?
Yes - we have a great food menu on our rooftop! We serve lunch and dinner, but because the rooftop is outdoors, our hours will vary based on the weather.
Is there special seating for disabled persons?
Georgia Theatre features full ADA compliance with elevator access on every level! Feel free to send an e-mail to request that space be reserved for special situations. Note: This is not for people who would just prefer to sit. We can only reserve space for disabled persons and only if we are given advance notice.
Is photography permitted?
Small point-and-shoot cameras and smartphones are permitted, but we please ask that you turn off the flash out of respect for the artists. Professional SLR cameras will require special permission from each individual artist’s management.
What is your weapons policy?
Firearms, explosives, flammable substances and other weapons of any kind are not allowed on Georgia Theatre property. This includes, but is not limited to rifles, shotguns, pistols, BB guns, pellet guns, bows and arrows, stun guns, knives, and martial arts weapons.
Can I smoke inside?
Athens/Clarke County law prohibits smoking inside…period. However, smoking will be allowed on the roof patio.
Do you have seats?
We have a few bar stools in the venue, but they cannot be reserved. This is a standing/dancing place. If you must sit to watch a show this is probably not the venue for you.
I need to stay the night, where do you suggest?
Our friends at Hotel Indigo, Holiday Inn, Holiday Inn Express, The Hyatt and The Hilton are all located in the downtown area a few blocks from the venue.
Are you going to be offering UGA football games on the big screen?
We will do our best to show most games throughout the season. Just keep an eye on our calendar. Please note that you must be 21 or older in order to watch the game.
What is your code-approved, legal capacity?
We can legally accommodate 1000 people!
