Their fifth most recent studio album, Brighter Future, reflects Lalli and Salken’s vision for uniting the world through music and community. Lalli wrote, “Now more than ever, we need to come together and work towards a brighter future for us, our children and for the human race as a whole.”
The album was released on August 26, 2016 and features special guests Waka Flocka Flame, Logic, Cherub, Griz, Pell, and many more. The single, “The Little Things" feat. Angela McCluskey has received national acclaim, with over 1 million downloads, 20+ million streams, and landing sync placements everywhere from Fox's breakthrough show ‘Empire’ to ESPN's Wimbledon 2016 & NBA coverage.
Big Gigantic’s impact stretches much farther than their music. After donating tens of thousands of dollars, school supplies, food and other items to those in need through their #ABigGiganticDifference initiative, Lalli and Salken have taken their give-back mission to the next level. In Fall of 2016, the duo founded the nonprofit A Big Gigantic Difference Foundation with the mission to spread positivity and enact change alongside their fans and community through #ABDG events, fundraising initiatives, and donations from ticket sales.
In 2017, they switched their model of giving many small gifts for a greater impact large donation. The first ABGDFoundation partnership was announced in the summer of 2017 with the Denver, CO nonprofit, Youth On Record who will be the recipient of the majority of the funds raised in for the year. The gift of over $40,000 will build out, update and support instruction for a stationary computer lab at Youth on Record’s headquarters.
2017 also marked the sixth year of Big Gignatic’s own headlining, two-night festival, Rowdytown , at Colorado's famed Red Rocks Amphitheatre.
Over the years, the band has cemented itself as a must-see act on the US festival circuit, having performed at every major festival including:
Coachella, Lollapalooza, Ultra Music Festival, Hangout, Austin City Limits, Governors B all, Electric Forest, Outside Lands, and Bonnaroo.
He dove into the creative world at a young age, beginning with piano lessons when he was 8 years old. From there, he fully transitioned to the world of percussion and drums and was 1 of 6 selected into the Governor's Honors Program in the state of Georgia.
When he learned how to navigate a DAW in 2011, innovative possibilities were born. Since then, he's carved out a sound in the electronic funk realm, inspired by many styles of the past, but mainly disco, funk, and hip-hop. The end result is a genre-bending style deemed "chromafunk".
He has released 2 EP's to date, the first being "[ESC] Logic" in 2016, followed by "A Deeper Love" in 2018. According to raverrafting, "his music hits you with the smooth disco feels in the same neighborhood as GRiZ, but still with its own original spin”. "Pure Colors’ latest, 'Deeper Love', opts for a mellow, floating energy that is quick to catch the ear. Based off the strength of this latest original and Pure Colors’ ability to carve out his own niche in a crowded field, it’s no wonder the producer has received support from the likes of Pretty Lights" - Dancing Astronaut.
With support from The Pretty Lights Movement in the form of Sirius XM radio play and multiple label releases on prestigious platforms such as Sundae Sauce, Joey is primed for a big 2018. He also thinks that since this is written in the third person, you will take him a little more seriously, but at the same time, hopes that you don't take him too seriously.
