Airpark makes forward-thinking pop music.

The duo’s latest single ‘Yours Till I Die’ debuts on their own independent label, Eugenia Hall Records, on April 27, 2018. The tune was fortuitously finished, as brothers Ben and Michael wrote and prepared to record their third EP, which is due out in late Summer 2018.

A version of this song was collecting dust in the duo’s back catalog, dating back to early 2017, when their first EP, Early Works, Volume 1, was released. Fast forward one year, while working with producer Ryan McFadden (TORRES, Tony Joe White), a chance organ swell gave way to an ascending piano riff, offering the refrain ‘Yours Till I Die’ new life.

"After doing many projects together in the studio, a powerful creative trust has developed between us and Ryan. You don't have to spend much time in the industry before it becomes glaringly apparent how valuable and rare that can be.” Ben Ford continues, “His reimagining of the original chord progression, voiced through layers of differing keys sounds, perfectly presented the dreamy and melancholy aspect of the lyrics that we wanted the production to reinforce."

Ben contributes a supportive laissez-faire vocal harmony throughout and a slide guitar solo, as the final touches to Michael's hazy anthem of infatuation.

“This is one of the more direct songs I've written. I have always appreciated songwriters like Bill Fox and Fiona Apple, who were able to be both direct and poetic simultaneously - that's exactly what I was after with ‘Yours Till I Die.’ It felt vulnerable as hell, but I knew if I could strike the right balance it would do the subject matter justice,” says Michael Ford, Jr.

‘Yours Till I Die’ was mixed by Scott Hundley at MADE Recording and mastered by Jim DeMain (Dan Auerbach, Andrew Bird, Lambchop). The single displays the brothers’ continued impressive ability to thread the needle in their creation of high integrity yet immediate pop.
