Q: Where is the Georgia Theatre located?
A: The Georgia Theatre is located at 215 N Lumpkin St. between Washington St. and Clayton St. in the heart of downtown Athens, GA. Click here for directions.
Q: Where do I purchase tickets?
A: Tickets are available on our website. You can also purchase tickets at our box office which is open Noon - Midnight, Monday through Saturday. Please note: we do not accept cash at the box office.
Q: Are ticket sales refundable?
A: No refunds. All sales are final.
Q: How old do I need to be to get in?
A: All shows at the Georgia Theatre 18 and up. All football games are 21 and up.
Q: How do I give my Will Call ticket to another person?
A: In most cases, if you purchased tickets online and you are unable to attend you may give a photo copy of your drivers license to whomever you would like to redeem those tickets. Please make sure to review info provided for each show as there are cases where tickets are non-transferrable.
Q: Can I sell my tickets for more than I paid for them?
A: Absolutely not! We frown on scalpers and do everything in our power to stop them. If you are caught selling or buying tickets for more than face value you will not be allowed to attend and your karma will be in dire jeopardy.
Q: The show is sold out, what can I do?
A: Make a new friend that has an extra ticket. Again, we will do everything in our power to stop scalping. Also, please note we will not support tickets purchased through second party vendors (StubHub, Razorgator, TicketsNow, etc)
Q: When can I pick up my Will Call tickets?
A: Will call tickets will be available to be picked up one hour before posted door time at the venue. You must have an ID to redeem will call tickets.
Q: I hear there is going to be a restaurant and bar on the roof. Is this true? Can I come hang out even when there isn't a show?
A: Indeed! We are thrilled to be offering delicious food and refreshing drinks from 11:30 am - 2am Monday through Saturday! Click here to see our menu. Check us out on Urbanspoon too!
Q: Do you have seats?
A: We have a few bar stools in the venue, but they cannot be reserved. This is a standing/dancing place. If you must sit to watch a show this is probably not the venue for you.
Q: I am in a wheelchair but would love to sit on the balcony or check out the rooftop bar. Is this possible?
A: No problemo. The rebuilt interior features full ADA compliance with elevator access on every level! Feel free to send an e-mail to request that space be reserved for special situations.
Note: This is not for people who would just prefer to sit. We can only reserve space for disabled persons and only if we are given plenty of notice.
Q: Is photography permitted?
A: Small point-and-shoot cameras are permitted, but we please ask that you turn off the flash out of respect for the artists. Professional SLR cameras will require special permission from each individual artist's management.
Q: Speaking of photography, I saw the beautiful art gallery. Is the art for sale?
A: Most of the art is available for sale and can be purchased at any of our bars, including the rooftop bar.
Q: Can I smoke inside?
A: Athens/Clarke County law prohibits smoking inside...period. However, smoking will be allowed on the roof patio and street.
Q: What is your official, code-compliant capacity?
A: We are proud to have nearly doubled our capacity with the new interior. We can now legally accommodate 1000 people!
Q: When can I enter the venue and when will the music start?
A: Typically, doors are at 8pm with music starting at 9pm. We would also like to note that most shows will be over around midnight. Please come join us on the roof after a show as it is open until 2am.
Q: I used to love watching UGA football games at the Theatre. Are you still going to be offering the games on the big screen?
A: We will do our best to show most games throughout the season. Just keep an eye on our calendar. Please note that you must be 21 or older in order to watch the game.
Q: I need to stay the night, what do you suggest?
A: Our friends at Holiday Inn and Holiday Inn Express are only a block away. Click here to get a great rate!
Q: Have you gotten rid of those infamous draft beer lines?
A: Well, we were originally really worried about the well-being of the live cultures that had been fermenting in the lines for so many decades. Indeed, the fire wiped out many of the colonies of spores that we worked so hard to maintain. Luckily, after consulting a team of microorganism specialists, we were able to salvage a small sample. Once reintroduced to the new beer lines, these organisms will flourish and repopulate thus bringing back that "Theatre flavor" you once cherished.
Q: Man, I remember seeing [insert band name here] back when [insert culturally significant time period here].
A: Awesome... tell us more!
