Alec Stanley's Blues Brigade
Alec Stanley is a Macon, GA native who has had many artistic incarnations over the years. Always struggling to express himself by typical means of communication, he has taken to a very blunt and biographical style of songwriting. Guests to Stanley’s shows have been overheard stating things such as, “that was awkward”, “do you think he is okay?”, or “does he not have any happy songs?”, and have often been seen after his sets heading for the nearest bar to order a drink or the nearest exit to smoke a cigarette.

Although can’t quite seem to figure out his place in this temporal plane, he most assuredly is at home on the stage. Having spent the past decade in various venues over the years, he has certainly seen his share of stage time. Spending the past several years of his life playing as a supporting musician in bands such as Jubee and the Morning After, Manchester Orchestra, Death on Two Wheels, MIGHTY, Madre Padre, and a slew of others, Stanley has shifted his focus once again towards his solo music. Although he would prefer to think of his music as anything but common, his songs have a way of being very simple and getting stuck in your head, while maintaining a sense of dread and ever-present pain.

The Blues Brigade started as a way to not feel so naked and vulnerable singing the songs he has collected over the past several years by sharing the stage with a revolving cast of musicians. Most shows feature a member change of some sort, and always revolves around spontaneous improvisation, guaranteeing that no two shows are the same. There is never a constant set-list or song length, but expect to hear a mix of his favorite covers and originals, all effortlessly sewn together by the extremely talented and experienced musicians he somehow convinces to play with him.
