Rattlesnake Rattlers - (Set time: 8:00 PM)
The Rattlesnake Rattlers are a folk string band from the heart of Dixie. Some call it a jug band; some call it a redneck orchestra; others call it hobo blues. At any rate, these Alabama boys and girls have revived a sound that could have easily been lost with the memories of those who enjoyed true southern folk music, which was played by bands made up of true artists. Fortunately, the Rattlers are making sure that this sound will not be lost. The group is composed of 8 members who fill the stage like a congregation: Micah Dempsey, Kelsey Girdwood, Ian Nelson, Kevin Brown, Trevor Stewart, Gillian McCary, Jody Wood, and Kelcie Pugh. If the Appalachian Foothills could sing, then The Rattlesnake Rattlers would be her voice. Their shows are a foot-stompin’ experience, spiritual and percussive, which would probably sound even better on your porch, without the microphones. The combination of stringed instruments, assorted percussion, and a gang of singers speak straight to your soul, from theirs.
